Care Guide
Planting. Choose your pot wisely! Ensure there are a sufficient amount of drainage holes in the pot you want to plant your Rhipsalis in - worst case, you can always drill some holes in! Rhipsalis like to completely dry out between watering, and in order to do that, they need good drainage. Plant your Rhipsalis in a porous, well-drained soil - a good quality succulent mix tends to be a great option. You can find these at most hardware or garden stores, though you can also make your own using a basic potting mix and a selection of different mediums like perlite, orchid bark, and sand.
Environment. Rhipsalis need to be kept out of direct sunlight to prevent burning of their foliage, so position them in an indoor or shaded position with a good amount of filtered light. Temperatures below 10℃ can be detrimental to Rhipsalis and can kill them overnight. Keep them in a warm position and protected from the cold.
Lighting. Rhipsalis aren't super fussy with lighting, though they do best when given a good amount of bright, indirect light. More mature, rooted plants can handle a little bit of direct morning sun without worry.
Watering. Water sparingly and let the soil completely dry out between watering. Rhipsalis are a succulent plant and do not like to have wet feet. Your soil should have good aeration to prevent it from holding too much moisture, and your pot will need plenty of drainage holes.
