Dianthus caryophyllus - Carnation

Carnations have been a staple member of every cottage garden for years, with their stunning blooms in a variety of colours and patterns. These popular perennials thrive in moist, well-drained soil in a sunny to partly shaded position. Removing the spent blooms after flowering encourages new-growth and helps to extend the blooming period.
