The Ponytail Palm gained its name from its spray of narrow, strap-like leaves resembling a ponytail hairstyle. It is a hardy slow growing plant with a unique large, swollen trunk. It can be grown both indoors and outdoors and thrives in a bright position with well-drained soil. This tough palm can tolerate periods of dryness and hot summer weather.
